Ricky Glenn Michaelis, 66, of St. Charles passed away on Thursday, December
22, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was greatly loved by his children,
grandchildren, and their families.
The son of Claude and Shirley Michaelis, Rick was born on July 27, 1956 in
Chicago. After graduating from Schaumburg high school, Ricky received his
associates degree and worked as a draftsman. Ricky moved to St. Charles in
1979, where he worked as a machinist and auto mechanic for many years.
Ricky was an outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hiking, biking, canoeing and
snow-skiing. He had a passion for the 1957 Chevy Bel-Air, and working on his
children’s cars. He was kind, generous, and willing to help others. Ricky left us
far too soon and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include son Eric (Katrina), daughters Theresa (John), Melissa (Scott);
six grandchildren – Gavin, Liam, Hayden, Cassidy, Kieran, and William.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Kenneth Michaelis and Lee Michaelis
Services will be held from 10 am – 12 pm, Wednesday, December 28th, 2022 at
Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 W. State Street, Geneva IL. Burial will follow at
Whitney Cemetery, 40W400-40W414 Burlington Road, Campton Hills, IL.
