Obituaries

Shirley F. Novak of Chicago, and formerly the Fox River Valley area, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2018. She was born in Morris, IL, to Ellsworth and Naomi Jewel (Garrison) Bogart.

She was passionate about young children and their education. Following work with the Oswego School District, she found her favorite job—being a nanny, which she joyfully did for several years. She was an avid enthusiast of classical music, Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, and many other interests.

Survivors include her sons, Dan (Dean Ricker) Novak of Chicago and Tom Novak of Boston, MA; and sisters Ann Close of St. Charles and Sue Bogart of Dunedin, FL.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 W. State Street, Geneva, IL. The family will be receiving guests at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 pm.
