Victor Covarrubias, 68, of Geneva, IL, went to Heaven on January 1, 2022 at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva.

He was born on February 11, 1953 in Melrose Park, IL. He was the son of the late Lorenzo and Elvira Covarrubias.

Victor spent his life committed to sharing his faith and helping others.  He loved the Lord with all of his heart, mind and soul and was ready to share his faith and to serve him in all kinds of ways.  He loved his wife Judy who faithfully accompanied him in his ministry and on life’s journey.  He was a member of College Church in Wheaton, where he was active in their STARS Disabilities Ministry.  Previously, he was a Deacon for Trinity Baptist Church where he served in multiple outreach programs to reach out to college students, prisoners, and others who needed a helping hand from the church.  As he was an accomplished artist and pinstriper, he was a member of Chicago Brushmasters where he participated in multiple charitable events around Chicago.  Lastly, he was also a board member for McAuley School.  For more than 40 years, he owned and operated Signs & Wonders sign shop in Geneva.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy; four children, Michelle (Scott) Evans, Josh (Chrissy) Covarrubias, Rachel (Brett) Pinkepank, and Dan Covarrubias; his four grandchildren, Jakob Evans, Isaac Evans, Asher Covarrubias, and Wib Pinkepank; his sister, Judy (Tom) Tawney; his brothers, Rick (Janet) Covarrubias, Eddie (Rhonda) Covarrubias, Larry Covarrubias, and Mike (Vickie) Covarrubias; and his brother-in-law William Bridgeforth.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sarah Bridgeforth.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 5 from 4:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 West State Street, Geneva, IL, followed by a prayer service at 5:30 P.M. Graveside Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 6 at River Hills Memorial Park, 1650 S. River Street, Batavia, IL.
