"Mr. Harris… When my family was going through some very difficult times when I was in middle school, you always went out of your way to check in on me and ask me how I was doing, how my brother was, and so much more. I have spoken about you often over the course of my life, now over a decade since we last saw one another. Authority figures always looked at my brother and I and saw problem kids; you looked at us and saw humans. Thank you for being a friend and a wonderful mentor and role model for us both. Thank you for always trying to do your best to make me feel not alone at a time when I felt just that. You will be so deeply missed."
