"Susan and Family: I have been devastated ever since I learned of Bill's passing. I worked many years as his admin and he always treated me as a friend. I have many memories of Bill, especially how overjoyed he was to tell me I would be a recipient of the President's Award, something I'm sure he was involved in. Due to a leg injury, I will not be able to be with you at the services but know that my prayers are for his family and for Bill, a true hero to our country. All my love."
