Kathleen Ann Andrini, amazing wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and educator unexpectedly passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021. Kathy was a woman of deep faith that flowed throughout her life. She greeted all with an infectious smile and open arms. Once you met Kathy, you had a friend for life. Kathy was born August 26, 1946 to Floyd and Elsie Kopacz. She was a carhop at Dog and Suds where she met Bob Andrini in 1963. She told her friends that she was going to marry a man like Bob, and she did. They were married for 54 loving years, and were blessed with three children, Tony, Geri, and Joy. Three grandchildren followed who were the light of her life.
Kathy was an educator, nature-lover, and avid birdwatcher who was recently called “Kane County Audubon’s leading lady.” As a teacher at Swing Set Preschool and during Religious Ed. at St. John Neumann, she influenced the future of many. Kathy brought her love of nature to programs at the St. Charles Park District as well as nature programs with her husband Bob. For over 20 years of volunteering and natural environment education, Hickory Knolls Nature Pavilion honored Bob and Kathy in name with the “The Andrini Trail.” Kathy had a big heart and always thought of others. She celebrated everything for everyone and now we celebrate her.
Kathy was survived by her husband, Bob, and their three children, Tony Andrini, Geri (Russ) Benning, and Joy (Sam) Wilson, her three treasured grandchildren, Riley Benning, Eli and Isaac Wilson, and her brother Thomas (Linda) Kopacz. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Elsie Kopacz. Kathy was unexpectedly called home for a greater purpose than we will ever know. She will be deeply missed by so many.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2900 East Main Street, St. Charles.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 3-8:00 P.M. at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, St. Charles, Illinois.  Interment will be private at Resurrection Cemetery in Geneva.  Contributions may be made to the Illinois Audubon Association or to a charity of your choice.
