Mary S. Jung (née Gillan) age 82 of Saint Charles IL, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2022. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Raymond. Mary is survived by her children Bob, Kathy (Ray) Schnulle and Mary Harrington. She was a fun and loving grandmother to her five grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, Emma, Nora, and Danny.
Mary was born on March 31, 1939 in Glasgow Scotland where she had a happy carefree childhood, finding each day a new adventure. In 1950 she immigrated with her family to America, where she started a new chapter of her life in Chicago. In 1961 she married the love of her life Ray, and settled down in Elmhurst IL where they raised their family.
Mary went through life with a song in her heart and on her lips. She had a kind and generous spirit, making friends wherever she went, and enriching the lives of others in thoughtful ways. She had many happy memories of camping with her family when her children were young. Mary enjoyed knitting and crocheting, reading, entertaining friends, spending time with her grandchildren, and sharing stories of her beloved Scotland. Her Catholic faith was important to her and with Ray she was involved in numerous ways with the church over the years. Mary was devoted to Ray, and their love for one another never wavered. Mary was dearly loved and will remain in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 1 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 6N487 Crane Rd, St. Charles. Funeral mass will follow at 11:00 am at the church.
