Alexander Christian Enskat, age 31, of St. Charles, Illinois, lost his life unexpectedly in the early morning of April 12, 2024.
He was born May 29, 1992 in Hinsdale, Illinois, to Edward and Paula Enskat.
Alex lived in a few different areas during his childhood, including the Chicagoland area, Atlanta, Dallas and back to Illinois, eventually settling in St. Charles. He attended Thompson and St. Charles North High Schools where he participated in the Marching Band, Jazz Band, and Tennis Team. He went on to attend the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, graduating in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree focusing on Molecular and Cellular Biology. In 2017, he earned a Master of Arts Degree in Psychology from Saybrook University in California.
Music was a big part of his life. He played many musical instruments, including the saxophone, guitar, and piano. He was also a great tennis player, enjoyed gardening and travel. Destinations included Colombia, England, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, and Greece. Alex also loved taking his dog Max on long walks on our neighborhood trails and in nearby parks.
Alex had a passion for helping people, especially those suffering from PTSD, which led him to create a website called PeakExperience.us. He wanted to further his education so that he would be able to help those individuals and others.
He is survived by his parents, Edward and Paula Enskat of St. Charles, Illinois, and his sister, Julie Kelsey-Fish of Elgin, Illinois. He also had many aunts, uncles, and cousins whom he adored.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Emil and Maria Enskat, and John and Mary Kelsey.
Visitation will be held at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street St. Charles, IL 60174, on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 2 – 4:30 PM.
A memorial service will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 101 S. 6th Ave. St. Charles, IL 60174, at 10 AM on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

"I can still hear Alex's voice. "Hey Juj". He was "buddy" to me. Anyway, Alex was the easiest brother, so chill, always up for food, a game, music, a show, just anything. He attended any rescue event I invited him to, and the dogs were just gaga over him. They literally flirted with him to the point of wagging tails and kisses. He was so handsome, and he was genuinely so kind to everyone. I was so immensely grateful for him. He was everything to me from the day he was born.We really knew each other well and gifted things to each other in ways that you could see we were related. I bought him things related to his art, music and love for plants. He bought me jewelry, Elvis memorabilia, American Indian related items and artifacts from his travels. I don't think I'll ever miss anything more in my life than his company. I was very blessed to have him for the time I did. He was my favorite human and a beautiful soul.Alex: You were The Coffee in my Cup, The Flap in my Jack, The Buzz to my Lightyear, The Jelly in my Bean, The Zig in my Zag, The Cheese in my Whiz, The Pow in my Wow, The Fortune in my Cookie, The Tennis in my Ball, The Fruit in my Loops, The Bees in my Knees, The Grand in my Piano, The Hop in my Pop, The Rock in my Roll, You were the Lucky in my Charms and The Fox in my Trot.Love you To Infinity and Beyond Buddy...keep all the dogs company 'til I see you again...xoxoxoxoxo Juj"
