Andrei Michael Alan Pawelczyk was born on July 6, 1994 and

died unexpectedly from a stroke on November 1, 2026. Andrei

was born in Yoshkar-Ola, Russia, but as he put it, he “…was born

on the plane” when he was adopted by his parents, Wayne and

Denise Pawelczyk, and flew to the United States at the age of 2

years old. Andrei grew up in unincorporated Plato Township and

attended Burlington Central Schools; graduating in 2012 from

Burlington Central High School. He played baseball and ran XC;

although his true passion was irritating the coaches and picking

up pine cones in the woods. Bradley University and the Pi Kappa

Alpha fraternity called next. Andrei graduated magna cum laude

with a degree in computer science in 2016. He went on to excel

at several jobs in the I.T. field—working for Interactive Health,

Zurich American Insurance Company, and Imperial PFS. He was

the proud Dog Daddy of Bailey, his rambunctious miniature

American shepherd (having been talked out of his plan to kidnap

a wallaby from the Lincoln Park Zoo)…and had recently

purchased a new home in Hampshire, IL. Andrei was actually a

very reserved person and didn’t like attention. As such, a private

celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Per his request,

he was cremated, and his ashes will be spread in places he loved

to hike—the Badlands and Yellowstone National Park—as well as

Alaska—where he someday planned to visit. When you take a

walk with a loved one or your 4-footed friend(s) and feel the

sunshine on your shoulders, think of Andrei and the tale he’d tell

sure to make you smile. Donations in his name can be made to

Humane World for Animals, the American Stroke Association, The

Nature Conservancy, or The Herren Project. Funeral

arrangements are being handled by Yurs Funeral Home in St.

Charles, IL. 630-584-0060
