Obituaries

After a long, courageous battle with some physical disabilities and breast cancer, Ann Vana, age 94, of St. Charles, formerly of Chicago and Westmont, passed away peacefully on June 23.

After graduation from high school, Ann had a very successful career working with Sears Roebuck and Pennwalt.  She attended Saints Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, as a dedicated member of the congregation, until her move to St. Charles.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Anna Vana who lived and raised their family in the Chicago area.

Ann is lovingly remembered by her brother, Paul and his wife, Esther; her nephews and their wives, Geoff and Anna and Tom and Heather.  Ann also leaves behind her extended family members and her friends who will miss her deeply.

Ann struggled with some physical disabilities at the end of her life but continued to live life, as best she could, without complaining.  She was indeed independent, until the end of her life.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Ann on Saturday, July 25, at 10:00 a.m.  The celebration will be at Saints Peter & Paul Lutheran Church located at 250 Woodside Road, Riverside, IL  60546.

Memorial donations in Ann’s memory may be made to the Saints Peter & Paul Lutheran Church.  Flowers are accepted, as well.
