Audrey Fern (Larson) Gleamza died December 28, 2021 in her home.  Born December 5, 1922 in Geneva at home.  Daughter of Victor and Hilder (Johnson) Larson of Geneva, IL.  She was raised in Elburn and graduated with the Elburn High School Class of 1940.  She worked at both Carlson and Averill Electric in Geneva from 1940–1946.  She was married to Edward Gleamza on September 29, 1945 at St. Galls Church in Elburn, IL.  Audrey and Ed were proprietors of Parkside Liquors for 40 years and retired in 1987.

She was a member of St. Patrick Church, St. Charles, IL.  She was also a member of Hits & Misses Golf League for 48 years playing at both Fox Valley Country Club & Villa Olivia in Bartlett.  She was past Chairman several times of Kane Co. Home & Community Education Assn. St. Charles Unit.  Also, 1st Vice Chairman & Treasurer.  For 5 years she was Treasurer of the Kane Co. Assn.  In 2014, she was Member of the Year and in 2015 she was nominated an Everyday Hero through the Kane County Chronicle.  She still enjoyed her Bridge Group that started in 1946, Tripoli and the Elburn Domino Group.

She is survived by her husband Edward of 76 years of marriage.  Also by 4 daughters: Karin (Fred) Rosenthal of The Villages FL; Dianne (Ralph) Potter of Graham, WA; Marsha Winter of Elgin, IL and Darlene (Charles) Lutzow of Sanford, NC and 2 sons:  Bruce (Laura) Gleamza of Geneva, IL and Tim Gleamza of Bonney Lake, WA.  12 grandchildren:  Heather Winter of Elgin, IL; Melissa Winter of Oregon, IL; Seth (Denise) Rosenthal of Naperville, IL; Nathan Rosenthal of So Elgin, IL; Kimberlee (Terry) Jones of Graham, WA; Erik Potter of Graham, WA; Alex Lutzow of Chicago; Cara Lutzow of Raleigh, NC; Clay (Samantha) Lutzow of Warminster, PA; Elliott, Henry and Bryston Gleamza of Geneva, IL.  8 great-grandchildren:  Cole and Cade Rosenthal; Alinea and Molly Rosenthal; Macrae, Emerson, Autumn, and Jaelin Lawton of Graham, WA.  She is survived by 1 sister:  Nancy Nelson of St. Charles, IL.  Sister-in-law Karen Larson of Sun City West, AZ.  Several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Victor Larson and Hilder Bowne, step-father Paul Bowne, step-mother Wilma Larson, 2 sisters:  Sis (Larson) Cofey and Janet (Larson) Barr, brother John (“Jack”) Larson and brother-in-laws Fred (“Swede”) Nelson, Jim Barr and Grant Larsen.

Funeral Mass at St Patrick Catholic Church, 400 Cedar St, St. Charles on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 10:30 A.M.

Contributions can be made to Salvation Army, 710 S. 7th Ave, St. Charles, IL  60174 to buy diapers.

Her motto:  Sing and Talk, Dance and Walk, Take care of your teeth and feet.  Have a Pajama Day.  Smile!

She wanted to be a good wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, relative and friend.  And she was.
