Barbara A. Bleke, age 68 of South Elgin, passed away July 30, 2017. She was born to Robert and Clara Rummel in Saginaw, MI. She was a graduate of Western Michigan University. Barbara started her teaching career at Elizabeth Ann Johnson H.S. in Mt. Morris, MI. Upon moving to Chicago she taught at Luther H. S. North. After raising her three children, she went on to Hester Junior H.S. in Franklin Park, IL where she enjoyed a long tenure, and retired in 2009. Upon her retirement her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband Dwight, daughters; Leslie (Michael) Kulvicki, of Winfield, IL, Courtney (Nicholas) Pupich, of Sugar Grove, IL, son Michael Bleke, of Boston, MA, five grandchildren; Shane, Chloe, Caden, Kyle, Ryan, mother Clara Rummel, siblings; Jack (Gaybriel) Rummel, Sandy (Larry) Hartwig, Tom (Leslie) Rummel, and Bob (Sandy) Rummel.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father Robert Rummel.
A Memorial Visitation will be 9-11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church 101 S. 6th Avenue, St. Charles, IL 60174. A Memorial Service will follow the visitation at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
