Barbara J. Skora, 86, passed away at home on March 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a second battle with cancer.

Barbara was born on September 24, 1939 in Chicago, IL to James and Elizabeth “Betty” Brennan and grew up with three brothers.

On April 19, 1959, Barb attended a church dance and met her future husband, Kenneth. Barb and Kenn were united in marriage on June 2, 1962.

Barb spent most of her professional life working in the banking and investment/retirement industry with her last position as Senior Vice President of the Trust Company of Illinois. Barb was one of TCl’s original Founders.

Barb was blessed with three children: A son, Dean and twin daughters, Deanne & Donna.

Barb is survived by her loving husband, Kenn: Deanne (Steve) Duane of DeForest, WI, and daughter Donna of St. Charles, IL. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Derek Q. Anderson and Meghan K. Carroll, both of Madison, WI: brother, Jerry Brennan of Lombard, IL and numerous in laws and nieces and nephews. She was also survived by her two cats, Layla (her baby) and Pumpkin.

Barb was preceded in death by her son Dean, and her brother Jimmy.

Per Barb’s request, no services will be held.

Barb, Mom and Nana, there are no words to express how heartbroken we are that you are no longer with us. You were the glue for our family, and the hole that is now here will never and can never be filled. Your strength was immeasurable.
