Mr. Bonifacio Perez Gonzales (known as Bacho to his family and friends) of St. Charles, Illinois, was born on June 5, 1934 in Castroville, Texas, to the late Policarpo and Victoria (Perez) Gonzales. He went to be with our Lord on January 2, 2018 at home surrounded by his family after battling cancer.

He was a former resident of Sabinal, Texas, and spent several years in the seminary in San Antonio. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959 at Fort Hood, TX.

He married Alicia Puente on July 5, 1959, and eventually worked and resided in St. Charles. They had eight children: Bono (Linda) Gonzales of Hoffman Estates, IL, Juan (Susan) Gonzales of Minneapolis, MN, Kiki (Tony) Bachara of Sycamore, IL, Gloria (Tom) Horning of Stow, OH, Lawrence (Mary) Gonzales of Maple Park, IL, Raul (Pamela) Gonzales of Riverview, FL, Irene Gonzales of Elgin, IL, and Ben (Caroline) Gonzales of San Antonio, TX.

He leaves to mourn in his passing 21 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors of 37 years Paul and Kathy Raymond, caregiver Laura Viloria, and especially the Saint Patrick Parish family.

He is joining in Heaven his parents, four brothers (Luis, Manuel, Francisco and Jose), three sisters (Maria, Maximina and Victoria), and one great grandson, Gavin William Bachara.

We will always cherish the love you gave us, and you will forever be in our hearts!

Funeral mass will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, January 5th at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 408 Cedar Street, St. Charles.  Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Geneva.  Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8:00 P.M. at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, St. Charles.
