Born July 21, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Arthur and Cleva Natus, she passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023.  The burial will be at Union Cemetery in St. Charles.

She graduated from Immaculata High School in Detroit.

Carol loved to decorate and through many moves always ensured her home was welcoming and beautifully appointed.  She was a gifted and talented crafter and quilter who made many lovely and wonderful gifts for friends and family.  Her needlepoint and embroidery work were displayed at Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute in Utica, New York.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Dr. Richard William Fountain. Carol is survived by her children, David (Stella Lam) Fountain of Alexandria VA, Diane (Jack) Saylors of St. Charles, Jeffrey (Lesly) Fountain of Montgomery IL, and Richard (Susan) Fountain of Magnolia TX; granddaughters, Jennifer Saylors and Megan Fountain; grandsons, Jonathan Saylors, Christopher and Matthew Fountain; great-grandsons, Ryan and Jackson Erminio; and several loving nieces and nephews and extended family (Brandon and Victoria). Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Mary Lou and Patricia.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 P.M. Monday June 5th, 2023, at the Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles.  Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, June 6th, 2023, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 / www.alz.org
