Carol Marie Nyman, 83, passed away peacefully at home August 25 th . Carol was born on
February 1, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to Louis and Martha Rose. It was there that she met the
love of her life, Knute Nyman, who she later married and raised six beautiful children with.
Carol was deeply devoted to her family, loved chatting on the phone, shopping for a good
bargain, watching her shows and ending the day with a Manhattan.
Carol was greatly loved by her children Lori (Tim) Purdy, Christine Leyden, Susan (John) Nyman,
Julie (Tom) Sochowski, Matthew (Tori) Nyman, 13 grandchildren, Nicholas (Mary Claire) Purdy,
Jessica (Steve) Palumbo, Brad (Katherine) Leyden, Connor (Tina) Purdy, Melissa Grizely, Emily
Leyden, Erin Leyden, Cameron Purdy, Nathan Nyman, Noelle Nyman, Jacob Sochowksi, Kyle
Sochowski, Madelyn Nyman, four great grandchildren, Reagan Palumbo, Archie Purdy, Collins
Purdy, Anthony Palumbo, her brother Kenneth Rose, as well as many nieces, nephews and very
dear friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Knute, son Jeffrey, granddaughter Mary Ruth,
brother Bud, and her sisters Marilyn and Jean.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm Monday August 29, 2022 at Yurs Funeral
home in St Charles. A Funeral mass will be held Tuesday August 30, 2022 at 10:30 am at St
Patrick Church (Downtown location).
