Carol Sue Borkowski, passed into heaven Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026. She was greatly loved by her husband, children, grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
The daughter of Leo and Marie Negoski, Carol was born on December 30, 1947, in Chicago, and grew up in Joliet, IL. She was a Registered Nurse for many years, loved caring for people, especially babies and new mothers. She patiently and lovingly raised six children, teaching them the essentials of life: how to cook, clean, to be respectful and faithful. Carol loved to sing and play piano, was a cantor and choir member at Saint John the Baptist in Winfield, IL and later at Saint Peters in Geneva, IL. She and her husband Nolan, as First Mate and Captain, loved spending time together on their houseboat the Too Spoons, which they planned to retire on, as well as taking cruises on the open sea. Carol was always cheerful, loved to laugh and play cards, and always had a smile for everyone. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, and friend to many and will be greatly missed, but forever remembered.
She leaves behind her dear husband Nolan, sister Val, brothers John and Jim, sons Aaron, Andy (Peggy), Adrian (Andrea), Alex (Michelle), and Adam (Elsa), daughter Aimee, twelve grandchildren – Rachel, Ellen, Josh, Dominic, Sarah, Diego, Arianna, Azariah, Esmè, Una, Àine, Amelia, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Marie, brothers Leo and Jerry, and sisters Mary, Joan, and Anna.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, February 7th, 2026 at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, St. Charles, IL. Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery, 1S150 Winfield Rd., Wheaton, IL 60189. Family and friends will gather for visitation from 10:00 A.M. to noon at Yurs Funeral Home of St. Charles, 405 East Main Street (Corner of Rt. 64 and Rt. 25).

"Sweet Carol Sue welcomed me into the 9 am Choir at St. Peter's back in 2008 (?) She was always a caregiver, taking care of others. Her love for Jesus was so infectious - I enjoyed all of our conversations during rehearsals or after Mass each week.We would sing at First Communion Masses and special celebrations together. I know she is singing with angels in Heaven now. While she will be missed incredibly by her family and friends, she is where she needs to be - singing and dancing with angels.Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace - Amen."
