Charles Edward Dover, 82, of St. Charles, passed away February 11, 2020. Charles was born to Roy and Marjorie Dover on November 13, 1937 in Alabama. He married Gail Scherer on February 15, 1964.

Charles was father to Debbie (Steve) Layne, Greg Dover, and Sandy (Tory) Gum. He was Papa to Alexa (Josh) Adams, Lauren (Cole) Bludworth, Jordan, Grayson, Abigail, Victoria, Shawna, Jack, and Candace.

Charles graduated from Parish High School in Parish, Alabama where he was born and raised. Charles joined the army right after high school. He was stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado for most of his military career. After serving in the military for 3 years and the Army Reserves for 3 more years he attended Wayne State University in Michigan where he obtained a Bachelor degree in Business; he then went on to Central Michigan University to finish his MBA. Charles retired from Borg-Warner as Vice President of Sales and Marketing after 35 years of service. He then continued working for another 8 years as Vice President of Sales and Marketing with Means Industries in Saginaw, MI.

Charles was a former member of the Optimist Club, and also an active member of First Baptist Church of Elgin. Charles enjoyed golfing, going to garage sales, and spending time with friends and Family. He was a great husband, father, papa, and friend and will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 4:30 – 6:30 P.M. on Monday, February 17, at First Baptist Church of Elgin located at 1735 West Highland Elgin, Illinois. Memorial Services will be at 6:30 P.M. following the visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Elgin, or Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.
