Obituaries

Charlotte Elaine Heckel, age 89, of St. Charles, formerly a 32 year resident of Westchester, passed away Monday, March 11, 2019 at Delnor Hospital in Geneva.

She was born December 18, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to LeRoy and Charlotte Gilbertsen.  She graduated from Austin High School in Chicago.

Mrs. Heckel was a long standing member of Divine Providence Catholic Parish in Westchester.  She served as a member and past president of the Women’s Club and the Altar Guild at the church.

Mrs. Heckel is survived by her children, Margaret A. (Dr. Todd) Hewell III, Joseph L. (Tina) and Kurt, grandmother of Kristen (Kurt) Anderson, Dr. Lauren (Josef) Fischer and Todd Hewell IV, great grandmother of Benjamin, Henry and Margaret Anderson, sister Bernadine Wendt, brother-in-law Marshall Lavin,  and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph F., her sisters, Helen Lavin and Marilyn (John) Siwak, niece Maureen Sapinski, and brother-in-law  Harold Wendt.

Funeral mass will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 21^st at St. Patrick Crane Road Church, St. Charles.  Burial will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Association.
