Christopher “Chris” Moreci, died January 18th in Saint Charles, Illinois. He was loved immeasurably by his wife, daughter, friends, and loved ones.

The son of Anthony and Lucille Moreci, Chris was born on November 12th, 1962 in Houston.

He was a graduate of California State University, Chico in 1986.

That same year, he made a cross-country move from the West Coast to the Chicago suburbs, where he married Janine Zecca on a crisp October day in 1990. Their daughter, Theresa, was born years later and raised in Saint Charles.

Chris exuded joy, and his contagious zest for life painted smiles on those he interacted with. His intellectual prowess and curiosity were fascinating. There was never an inopportune time to ask the “five whys”.

Survivors include wife Janine (Zecca) Moreci, daughter Theresa, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his loving parents and sisters, Patty and Margaret.

Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life, Friday, January 28th from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm at Aurelio’s in Geneva, Illinois, 330 W. State Street. All are welcome.

Donations in Chris’ memory can be made to Lurie Children’s Hospital or the American Heart Association.

"I met Chris when I moved to Los Altos in 7th grade. He was charismatic, engaging, funny and full of energy. He was also fast, the fastest sprinter around a track I’d ever seen. We became close friends and remained that way for over 45 years. He is emblazoned on my soul like a brother. My deepest condolences to Janine and Theresa, the two loves of his life. Godspeed Chris you will be missed. Xo"
