Christopher J. Schaefer, 80, of St. Charles, died Friday May 15, 2020 at Delnor Community Hospital, Geneva.
He was born August 3, 1939 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The son of the late John and Margaret Schaefer(Kastner).
He is survived by his wife, Helen. Two sons, William (Erin) Schaefer and two grandchildren, Grayson and Ainslie, of San Antonio, TX and Michael of Bartlett, IL
Also, his sisters in law, Mary LeFevre of Appleton, WI, Joan Schmitt of New London, WI, and Sharon Schaefer of Norman, OK. And many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death besides his parents, his brother, Joseph and sister, Margaret. Also Brothers in law, Robert Balza, William Balza, Allen Schreiner, Lawrence Burch, Thomas Schmitt and Ronald Lefevre. His sisters in law, Marge Balza, Edith Schreiner, and Lois Burch.
Chris loved gardening, always working a large garden each summer until a stroke in 2012, when he moved into Brighton Gardens in St Charles.
Chris was a fan of the Cubs and the Packers and would rarely miss a televised game.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
