Dana M. Dillon, age 59 of St. Charles died Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, IL.
She was born July 18, 1959 in St. Paul, Minnesota to loving parents Lloyd and Martha Smith.
Dana grew up in Mendota Heights, MN and eventually attended the University of Minnesota, where she earned a degree in Therapeutic Recreation in 1981. She was a member of Alpha Omega Pi Sorority.
In 2003, Dana created Dana’s Designs, Inc., in Saint Charles, IL, an interior design consulting company she worked with a passion for over ten years until chronic illness slowed her. She was formerly very active in Pottawatomie Park District Women’s Golf and was a former member of the Pottawatomie Garden Club. Through years of active participation, Dana greatly enjoyed the associations and friendships developed along with her husband Stephen in the Illinois Road & Transportation Builders Association.
But Dana’s greatest joy came from time spent with her loving family, especially her two wonderful daughters, Emily and Bailey. She also loved many great friends, some for a lifetime, especially her loving best friend Lynn Field Storla of Eagan, MN. Dana sincerely enjoyed and loved helping her customers design and realize the comfort and warmth of their homes. Gardening was also her passion, she loved to be surrounded by beautiful flowers. Dana was a devoted and loving wife and mother, beautiful daughter, caring sister and sincerely loyal friend.
Dana was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd F. Smith of St. Paul, MN.
Dana is survived by her husband, Stephen. Her two loving daughters, Emily and Bailey. Her mother, Martha Smith of St. Paul, MN. Brothers David (Linda) Smith, Jeffrey (Devon) Smith, Stephen Smith, and Michael (Mollie) Smith. And of course, her loving and loyal companion, Harvey.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 4 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, December 14, 2018 at Yurs Funeral Home St. Charles. Memorial funeral mass will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at St. John Neumann Church St. Charles. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research.

"I will truly miss my big sister who, when we were kids, would lovingly refer to me as "booby benson", due to a slight weight problem I had as a youngster:) I have many found memories of Dana, such as when she road "shotgun" with me on patrol in my squad car, and went golfing with my cop friends and I. Mollie and I especially enjoyed when Dana and Steve would come boating with us on the St. Croix River. There are many other wonderful memories of Dana but I am especially happy to know Dana is now in perfect health, walking streets of gold with her Savior Jesus. Steve, Emily, and Bailey, Mollie and I love you all so much and we are praying for you during this very difficult time."

"Steve, Linda and I are praying for you and your girls, asking the Lord to make His comfort and presence known in a special way. You are a rich testimony of a husband who loved and cared for Dana in a remarkable and selfless way. Although, we have not met the girls, we want them to know of the sadness we feel and that we are praying for them. May you know God's nearness. John and Linda Isaiah 41:13 "For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, 'Fear not, I am the One who helps you'.""
