Debra A. Paschal, 65, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 4th due to health complications from cancer.
Debbie was born on November 15th, 1957 in Rugby, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Richard (Dick) Fleck and Irene Bickler.
Debbie attended Bishop Ryan High School in Minot, North Dakota, and continued her education in Minot afterwards at Minot State University. Her education then developed further at Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Missouri, and culminated at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois, with a Master’s Degree in Special Education. Debbie had a passion for helping others learn, especially those with disabilities and impediments, and devoted almost two decades of her life in the education system helping students achieve their highest potential.
Debbie was an avid gardener and spent countless hours volunteering with local garden clubs and organizations to help make the surrounding community in tune with nature. She had a special affinity for growing various fruits and vegetables and providing flowering plants for hummingbird migration each season. She loved the outdoors as a whole, and spent many sunny mornings golfing with her friends and family. The beach was her home away from home, and she spent many happy vacations down in the Caribbean with her husband and son. Later in life, she took her craftsmanship indoors and displayed her expertise in her needlepoint art pieces.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Dick and Irene. She is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years Robert Paschal; her son Alexander Paschal; her sister Cynthia (Jeffrey) Thomas; her brother Thomas (Carole) Fleck; her nephews Michael Thomas, Christopher Fleck, Benjamin Fleck, and nieces Erin Thomas and Megan Hubbard.

"Rob and Alex, i am so sorry for your loss. I first met Debra when I joined the Royal Fox ladies golf league. She was a much better player than me so I did not get to play with her often, but I did get to enjoy her company during lunch after golfing. Almost every Tuesday, Debbie would bring beautiful baskets full of vegetables for all of us ladies to take home and enjoy. She was such a thoughtful person, and she fought so hard for so many years. Hoping you find comfort in knowing that she is at peace.Fondly, Pat Stanton"

"Dear Rob and Alex, Just wanted to let you know I was so sad for you when I heard of Debbie's passing. I was in the hospital dealing with a lung transplant at the time. I know it's been 8 months, but never too late to let you know I loved appreciated Debbie's kindness and joie to vie. She had a special spirit that appreciated life. I remember she came to Michael's memorial service on crutches even though dealing with cancer. Her strong spirit lives on within me and I'm sure many others. Sending not only condolences, but wishes for you that you will be able to carry on with strength to find joy in the future. With warm regards, Kate Meyer"
