Dennis Dale Zickur, 70, passed away Sunday, August 29th, peacefully in the comfort of his home.
The son of Dale and Harriett(Kunde) Zickur, Dennis was born on October 1, 1950 in Pickstown, South Dakota. Dennis was a graduate of Dundee High School. On May 27, 1979, he would wed his wife Julie Wright. Their love and support for one another would continue on for 42 years. Dennis was a dedicated employee of Schneider Excavating in Elgin, Illinois where he would retire from after 40 fulfilling years.
He also resided in Elgin, Illinois with his loving family. As a devoted husband and father, he loved spending time with them. He was very involved with his sons’ hockey during their youth. Dennis, along with wife Julie, were very active with hobby horses. They both had a great love for raising, riding and showing their beloved horses. Both were also members of the Fox Valley Saddle Association. To know Dennis was to also know his great passion for getting outdoors and on the water for some fishing. Dennis also lived for having a great time while being among-st his large circle of family and friends. Dennis has left a great legacy of love, laughter, support and memories in all of our hearts. He will be deeply missed by so many.
Survivors include wife Julie; sons Joshua(Sandy), Jacob (Lauren), and Marshall; granddaughter Emersyn; brother Dean(Cynthia);sisters Coral(Michael) Sanders, Carol(Bob) Bowser, Cathy(Michael) Gonzalez; brother in laws Doug(Cindy) Miller, Jeff Wright; sister in law Marilyn(Darrell) and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by parents Dale and Harriett, sisters Connie Hanson and Cindy Miller, and brother Darrell.
Please join us in remembering the extraordinary life of Dennis. Family and friends will gather for a memorial from 4-8 P.M., Friday September 3rd. It will be held at Yurs Funeral Home 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles, Illinois 60174.
