Donald A. Kein, 60, died Wednesday, December 8th, 2021, at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL. He was born on May 22nd, 1961, in Belvidere, IL, the son of Barbara and Dennis Kein. He attended Central High School in Burlington, IL, and graduated in 1979.

Donald lived in Geneva for most of his life and was self-employed, founding several businesses during this time. He was mechanically gifted and enjoyed building and refurbishing many classic cars throughout his life, as well as designing and manufacturing prototypes for various companies, including his own. He was a skilled carpenter and built incredible furniture for fun, filling our house with his works of art. He was also an avid outdoorsman –  hunting, fishing and enjoying nature whenever he got the chance. Most of all, he was a loving and attentive father, and took great pride in his children’s academic and athletic accomplishments.

Anyone who knew Don would tell you that he was tough but fair. He valued respect and honor above all else and would go above and beyond to help his friends and family. His kindness and unique humor were unrivaled, and he could turn even the darkest of times into moments of laughter.

He is survived by his father, Dennis Kein, his brothers, Darrin, Daniel, David, Dennis and sister Belinda, as well as his wife Kimberly and his loving children, Nick, Courtney and Angela. He will be dearly missed.

A celebration of Donald’s life will be held this Sunday, December 12th, 2021 (Visitation) and Monday, December 13th, 2021 (Funeral) at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main Street in St. Charles, IL. All are welcome to these services, so please bring your best stories and prayers.
