Donna Marie (Russell) Pieniazek, 67, died on April 2nd, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of Frank and Jeanne Russell, Donna was born on July 27th, 1953 in Chicago. On August 6th, 1977 she married Ken Pieniazek at St. Francis Xavier in LaGrange, IL. Shortly after they became parents to three loving daughters.
Donna’s most cherished roles were that of wife, mother and grandmother. She was a calm and joyous presence in the life of her children and that legacy will be carried forward by her husband and three daughters. Her advice was in constant demand and she never turned down an invitation to be in their company. As she cared for her family, she also cared greatly for her students. Donna was a second grade teacher at Wasco Elementary School, retiring in 2016. Her love for her work carried on in her volunteerism in the years following her retirement.
Survivors include her husband Ken, daughters Kim (Ben) Rich, Cheryl (Jeff) Mower, and Deanna (Eric) Keilty; ten grandchildren – Casey, Maggie, Brady, Henry, Reilly, Owen, Jackson, Nora, Ellie, Hudson; her siblings Mariann (William) Krippinger, Nancy (William) O’Brien, Maureen Vari, Ellen (Mark) McDonald, and Martin (Amanda) Russell; her in-laws Lawrence (Esther) Pieniazek and Karen (Thomas) Holub; along with many loved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, brother James Russell, and sister Patricia Caspary.
Visitation will be at Yurs Funeral Home in St. Charles, IL on Tuesday, April 6th from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in St. Charles, IL on Wednesday, April 7th at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be private.
Flowers can be sent to Yurs funeral home. Donations can be made to the Wasco Elementary School library in Donna’s name. One of Donna’s greatest loves was reading to her grandchildren, and to the children of Wasco Elementary School.
