Obituaries

Dorothy Mae Allen age 91, passed away December 30, 2019. She was born to Otto F. and Ida Hintz , in Carpentersville, IL.  Dorothy was a talented cake decorator, and made many wedding cakes, she  also loved to sew. In Dorothy’s early years she work at the Elgin Watch Factory, later in her working career she worked for several demonstration companies, demonstrating consumer products to the public.  She met her future husband Donald at the Burlington Picnic and they were married and raised their family in St. Charles.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald Allen and daughter Carol Allen.

Dorothy is survived by her son Gary Allen of Elgin, IL., and niece Mary Smith of Algonquin, IL.

As per Dorothy’s request she was cremated, and her cremains were combined with her husband’s cremains.
