Dr. D. James Deodhar, 64, passed on Monday, November 9th, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was greatly loved by his wife, daughters and sons-in-law.

He was born on November 18, 1955 to Vimla and Solomon Deodhar in Pune, India. He moved to England in 1965, and married Susan Wroe on July 19th, 1986. In 2002, he moved with his family from his home in Manchester, England to St. Charles, Illinois, United States.

He was a graduate of Salford University where he studied biochemistry and achieved a doctoral degree in the field. He achieved a honorary doctorate from the University of Nottingham-Trent in 2001. He worked for a variety of oil lubricant companies, including Castrol, BP, and Fuchs Lubricants.

He loved to travel, and explored the world visiting every continent, and developed a strong love of cruises. He was physically active – he played varsity soccer and cricket in his youth, ran the Chicago Marathon three times, and loved to go on long walks with his wife.

He was a generous and humble man with a huge capacity for love; he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Susan, daughters Beth and Kavita, and sons-in law Kyle and Tom.
