John Andrew Bukovits age 89 of Aurora, IL, formerly of St. Charles, IL died November 19, 2020. He was the son of the late Andrew and Anna (née Simon) Bukovits. Born September 14, 1931 in Northampton, PA.
Beloved husband of the late Ursula (née Bickel) Bukovits. And faithful companion to the late Dorothy Edwards.
Beloved father of his children; Susan Allen (Bruce), St. Charles, IL, Kimberly Ihssen of Aurora, IL, Michelle Petersen (Ray) of Carpentersville, IL,
Thomas Bukovits (Jacqueline) of Joliet, IL.
Beloved “PopPop” to grandchildren; James Ihssen (Carrie), Melissa Miller (Chad), Rebecca Dionne (Kyle), Matthew Allen (Cindy), Eric Allen (Stephanie),
Andrew Petersen, Amy Petersen, Erin Petersen, Megan Petersen.
Beloved Great Grandfather to; Lillyan, Allison, Alivia, Jackson, Emma, Evan, Elliot, and Louis.
Beloved Brother to Mary Pritko of Northampton, PA.
Beloved Uncle to Carol Bright, Daniel Pritko, Joann Lescher, Joseph Bukovits Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings; Theresa Knopf, Joseph Bukovits Sr., and Anna Szerensits.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. And retired from Komatsu and the Kane County Cougars.
The funeral will be Friday, November 27, 2020 at 10:30am, at Queenship of Mary Catholic Church in Northampton, PA.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be NO visitation and internment will be private to family.
A celebration of John’s life will be announced at a later date.
Contributions to honor John can be made in the form of having church masses said in his memory, or contributing to the charity of your choice in his memory.
