Age 91, passed away peacefully at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL. She was born March 18, 1929 in Joliet, IL to Harry P. Keeley and Angela (Haley) Keeley. She was a long-time resident of Joliet before moving to Batavia, IL in 2000 to be closer to her children and their families.
Elaine was a devoted mother to her three children, raising them in Joliet and providing them with love and support, top-notch education, and a wide range of opportunities in sporting activities. Although having to work full-time, she rarely missed a sport event or school related function. Her devotion to family grew over the years, being blessed with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her Irish heritage and pride could never escape the attention of those that knew her- even to the extent of moving her birthdate up a day to celebrate St. Patrick’s !!! She lived by the thoughts from an Irish saying “Don’t walk in front of me, I may not follow. Don’t walk behind me, I may not lead. Walk beside me and just be my friend.” Her dog Bailey remained steadfast by her side, day and night.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Angela (Mimi) of Joliet, and her brother Harry P. Keeley, Jr. and wife Roberta of Boca Raton, FL.
She is survived by her sons Patrick C. Keeley and his wife Kimberly J. Keeley of Elburn, IL, Michael P. Keeley and his wife Helen Keeley of Florida, and daughter Mary Anastasia (Stacey) Keeley Brown and her husband Kevin B. Brown of Elburn, IL., grandchildren Michael P. Keeley and wife Ashley of Hinsdale, IL, Patrick Brown and his wife Tricia of Wheaton, IL, Kerrington Brown of Denver, CO. and Ryan Brown and his wife Madelaine of Chicago. Elaine’s lovely great grandchildren include Leighton, Liam and Reagan.
Elaine is also survived by her nephew and nieces in the Florida area; Jacie, Robert, Kim and their families.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
