Obituaries

Elroy “Al” Busche, age 83, of St. Charles passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at his home.

He was born January 9, 1938 in Elgin, Illinois to Erwin and Mabel Busche.

He grew up in Hampshire and graduated in 1956 from Central High School.

He enjoyed basketball, baseball and playing the drums.  In his teenage years he worked for A&P Grocery Store in St. Charles for 4 ½ years.  He served in the United States Army where he took an interest in electronics. Furthermore, he pursued a hobby in photography.  He married Beverly Peterson of Elgin, his high school sweetheart.   They loved traveling, golf, tennis and their dogs (aka “their kids”).

Al is survived by his nieces, Carol (DeRosa) Wagner, Rose Mary DeRosa, Linda (Busche) (Scott) Ross, Wendy (Busche) (Victor) Sutton, Cindy (Busche) (Chuck) Gray, Angela (DeRosa) (Danny) Jacobson, Josie (DeRosa) (Steve) Smedberg, Janet (DeRosa) Roberts, Rajean (Leonard) DiFiore, Valerie (Bill) Sinclair and Coleen Murray and his nephews, Terry (Gerri) Busche, Gene Loefer, Jason Loefer, Dennis (Brenda)  DeRosa, Victor (Rachel) Soos and Keith (Amy) Soos and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly in 2010, his parents, his brothers, Edwin and Donald Busche, his sisters, Lorna Busche DeRosa, Dolores Busche Loefer and Bernice Busche DeRosa and a nephew, Jerry Loefer.

Funeral service will be held 6:00 P.M., Sunday, December 19^th  at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 East Street, (corner of Rt.64 and Rt. 25), St. Charles.  Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  Graveside services will be held 11:30 A.M., Monday, December 20^th at Bluff City Cemetery, 945 Bluff City Blvd, Elgin.

The Service on Sunday will be zoomed live at 6:00 P.M.
