Elsie Joan Goepel age 96, passed away peacefully at her home at River Glen Assisted Living in St.Charles, IL. She moved back to the area in 2024 to be with many of her nieces and nephews. She was born May 12, 1929 in Chicago IL to the parents of John A. Burgwaldt and Elsie (Alm) Burgwaldt. Elsie survived her four siblings. Mildred(Dunning) Burgwaldt, Jack Burgwaldt, Brian K. Burgwaldt, and Carol ( Smith) Burgwaldt. She married Kenneth L. Goepel on February 14th. 1950. They had two daughters Kathleen Goepel born November 27, 1951 passed on January 30, 2023, and Julie ( Anderson) born on May 15, 1953 and passed on October 12, 2024. The family lived all over the world as Ken had a long career in the US Navy. She had a wonderful zest for life and loved her friends and family.
