Evy Diaz Kerin, of Elburn, IL, passed away in her home on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the young age of 42.
Evy was born on September 13, 1983 in Chicago, IL, eventually finding her way out of the city to Elburn, IL. Evy’s life was full of accomplishments such as earning her Associates degree, with her proudest of which being her marriage in 2023, becoming a homeowner in 2021, and especially being a mother to her daughter, born in 2013. From her earlier years as a Jenny Craig weight loss consultant, to her career as a supervisor at Devoted Healthcare, Evy found her passion in life by helping others. Her warmth was felt by all and the imprint she has left on everyone’s life can never be forgotten. Her sudden passing has left a void that is impossible to fill. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her compassion, love, and nurturing spirit.
Evy is survived by her loving husband Joseph Kerin and beautiful daughter Evangelina Kerin of Elburn, IL, her sisters Baselia Diaz of Clearwater, FL and Felicita (Jeremiah) Diaz-Taylor of Aurora, IL, along with many others, including her grandmother Catalina “Ita” Cruz, aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in life by her mother Evangelina Zaragoza, father Baltazar Diaz, uncles Michael Diaz and Jimmy Diaz, cousins Michael Garcia and Jose Roman Jr., and many more.
A celebration of Evy’s life will be held from 12pm – 6pm on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Yurs Funeral Home in Saint Charles (405 East Main Street), with a memorial service being held at 5pm.
In honor of Evy’s life, all guests are asked to please wear pink. For those who wish to send flowers, pink is also requested.
