Condolences

Jan Trimby Stack and Taylor Trimby from Joliet, IL

"Sending our deepest sympathy to Faye Cassingham’s nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Faye was our adopted “aunt” and a dear friend of our family, especially to our Mom (Eloise) and her sister Elaine. Even though Mom is now in a nursing home under Hospice care, she would wonder about how Faye was doing and was unhappy that she could not call her to visit with her on the phone, as they did many times in the past. One of the things we cherish are the hand-knitted personalized Christmas stockings that Faye made for all of us. Both my brother and I had ours on our mantels this Christmas, and these are real treasures to us.I also have many books that Aunt Faye bought for me, and they are being saved for when my grandchildren have children, so her legacy will live on.May the memories you share of her exceptional life bring you comfort in this time of bereavement.Jan Trimby Stack and Taylor Trimby Daughter and son of Eloise (Taylor) and Loren “Ike” Trimby Niece and nephew of Elaine Taylor Gleason"

Betty Stafford Ellis from Normal, IL

"In the fall of 1950, my schoolmates and I entered a fifth-grade classroom in Plainfield, IL, and were greeted by a new, young teacher named Miss Cassingham. I realize now that we must have been her very first class. She was a wonderful teacher, and we were lucky to have her. She was an excellent role model. Several of us went into education due in no small part to teachers like her. I met her again about thirty-five years ago and had a chance to thank her. Teachers really DO touch the future."
