Frank A. Weiss, 72, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 13, 2023, from complications of a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm. He was surrounded by his loving family, and was greatly loved by his wife, children, grandchildren, and their families.
The son of Frank C. Weiss and Doris Weiss, Frank was born on May 15, 1951, in Elgin. On March 3, 1973 he married Nancy Weiss in a Baptist Church in South Elgin.
Survived by his wife of fifty years Nancy Weiss, son Frank J. Weiss (Elyse), son Chris Weiss (Heather); two grandchildren – Taylor and PJ Weiss; dear siblings, nieces, nephews and brothers and sister’s in-law; and his precious dog, Lexi.
Preceded in death by both his parents.
Frank’s parents lived in South Elgin when he was born, and he never lived more than 3 miles away from that house. He worked hard all his life from the day after high school graduation to his retirement 45 years later. He was an employee at Ball Manufacturing in Elgin, IL. He was the man that kept those lines running and was even hired as a consultant after retirement. He was a devoted family man. His kids and grandchildren were the joy of his life, and he watched every sport from baseball (a Sox fan turned Cubs fan) to dance competitions, hockey games and track meets. He enjoyed his motorcycle and taking his wife on rides. Frank also enjoyed keeping his red Dodge truck in perfect condition and parking far away, especially after it’s weekly “bath”. Frank was a great handyman and took pride in helping his friends and family at every chance. He also had to have the greenest yard on the block and worked hard to have the best looking house on the street for Nancy.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Thursday, October 19th from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 East Main St., St. Charles, IL 60174. Funeral Service will also be held at Yurs Funeral Home at 10:00am Friday, October 20th with Pastor Chinn from Grace Evangelical Church. Interment will be at Prairie Cemetery in St. Charles immediately following.
Donations in memory of Frank A. Weiss may be made to Grace Evangelical Church, 1800 Bowes Rd. Elgin, IL 60123, or Anderson Humane 1000 S LaFox St, South Elgin, IL 60177 in Lexi’s name.
