I have known him for over 25 years, and I have come to know and appreciate his sense of humor, his love for his Romanian roots and family, his friendship, his professional endeavors. Although I am far away in Romania, I feel a deep sense of loss at this tragic news, especially after experiencing loss myself after my dad's passing 7 months ago. My hearfelt condolences to George's family! The memories, the laughter, the photos, all the years I've known George, will be kept and treasured forever. When I left, I was blessed with the opportunity to stay in touch with him. George was one of my recruits from Iowa State. I was so happy that BP Amoco hired him. I pray for the Lord's blessing upon his family. May their mourning be short."

Kyle & Mandi Kostroski from Plainfield, IL

"I (Kyle) met George during my first week of work at bp back in 2008. He was in the office next door to me and he made me feel welcome and part of the team from the start. He had a great sense of humor and we shared a lot of laughs over the years. I still remember when George met my son Mason and called him the happiest kid in the world because he smiled a lot. We kept in touch through our various roles as time passed, and it was great seeing him earlier this year back in the office. I spoke to him not too long ago and I am still in disbelief that he is gone. Gabi & Daniel, Mandi and I are so sorry for your loss and we share in your grief. George was a great man and he will be missed."

Ciprian Predoiu from Brasov, ROMANIA, AK

"Imi este greu sa gasesc cuvintele potrivite acum cand am aflat aceasta veste. George a fost un om minunat si asa va ramane in sufletele noastre. Prietenia care ne-a legat peste 47 de ani a fost intrerupta brusc de plecarea lui la stele. De acum inainte nu-l vom mai vedea decat prin fereastra amintirilor. O lumânare aprinsă şi gândurile mele sunt alături de el. Fie ca bunul Dumnezeu să-i odihnească sufletul în pace! Sincere condoleante familiei!"

Laurie Costantin from Perth Australia, AZ

Alina and Dorin from Coral Springs, FL

"George was our friend for more than twenty years and even though at times job demands separated us geographically, we always felt close to him and could not wait to spend time with him when we were in the same town. His intelligence and keen understanding of the world, his often irreverent but always sharp sense of humour, his warm friendship and love for his family will always live in our hearts, and our lives will be poorer for losing him. Our hearts go out to the loved ones he left behind and hope he somehow found the peace and tranquility his soul needed."
