Obituaries

Geraldine T. Serio age 85, of St. Charles, passed away January 20, 2021. She was born to Albert and Bernice Bucek in Chicago, Illinois.

Gerry was a loving wife, mother and incredible grandmother. She embodied the spirit of selfless giving and generosity. She was known as “The Baker Extraordinaire”

She is survived by her husband Salvatore, daughters Deborah (Jim) Peters, Denise (Carl) Formento,  step-sons Peter (Angela) Serio, Mark (Melissa) Serio, and eleven grandchildren; Lauren (Christopher) Walton, Stephanie Peters, Carl Formento  Jr., Nathan Formento, Christina Formento, P.J. Serio, Michael Serio, Brian Serio, Anthony Serio, Benjamin Serio, and Claire Serio.

She was preceded in death by her brother William (Dorothy) Bucek.

Visitation will be 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Yurs Funeral Home 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles, Illinois 60174. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, January 25, 2021, at St. Patrick Catholic Church 400 Cedar Street, St. Charles, Illinois 60174. Private entombment will be at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Des Plaines.
