Greg S. DeFotis, 65, of Lincolnwood, died Tuesday, September 05, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital Evanston.
He was born December 8. 1951 in Chicago.
Survived by his sister, Karen Wendland and a brother Gary DeFotis. Two nieces, Heather Summers and Carisa Marino. Also a great niece, Ava Summers. A great nephew, Graham Summers. Several aunts uncles, and cousins. Also his good friend Jerry Goldfein.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Leona DeFotis. Also a infant sister, Denise.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Yurs Funeral Home St. Charles. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 PM at Yurs Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

"Is this the "Gregory S. DeFotis" who was one of the US Chess Federation's top chess players in the 1970's?While I didn't know him personally, I do dimly remember Greg and his brother Gary from tournaments in the Chicago area.My sincerely sympathy to Gary and the rest of the family."
