Helen Ann Gartner, age 93, passed with peace and grace on January 3, 2019 at her home in Mequon, Wisconsin.
Helen was born 1925, in Sycamore, the daughter of Michael and Anna Racic. Her parents, 5 brothers and 3 sisters preceded her in death. She married Karl J Gartner Jr in 1949 at St Patrick Church, St Charles and was predeceased by both her loving husband in 1992 and her beloved son, James G Gartner in 2001.
Surviving are five children; Mary (Jerome) Ochab, Mundelein; Kathy (Ronald) Vanetten, Ellsworth; Jeanne (Dale) Stefanac, East Troy, Wisc; Susanne Gartner, Mequon, Wisc; Barbara Benning, Greendale, Wisc; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters; Diane Peters, Burr Ridge and Martha Racich, Niles, 2 brothers; Bro. Stan Racich OMI, Vancouver, B.C. and James Racich, Chicago, many nieces and nephews.
She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose greatest passion was helping others.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. January 8, 2019 at St Patrick’s Church on Crane Road, St Charles Illinois, Monsignor Steve Knox officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Geneva. Visitation will be one hour before the Mass. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association – Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter.
