"The loss of Henriette pains us to no end, but experiencing her friendship, her life, her family have been incomparable gifts. Condolences to all family and friends and take heart in your memories of this singular, wonderful lady."
Françoise ARNAUD TAREL and her sisters from FRANCE, IL
"Dear Henriette, You were our dear Aunt in the United States, your heart filled with American spirit and Luxembourg strength. You were the youngest of the Kraus / Agnes family, your roots belong to this small country of which we are all so proud. You were the last representative of this generation which achieved incredible things because of being united, in pain and joy, despite war and family distances. We thank you deeply for writing your book “Henriette” with the support of Bruce Steinberg, such an important testimony of the family history. We so much appreciate your openness, your ability to speak to us in all languages: English, Luxembourgish, German or French, teaching us that the most important thing was to listen each other and to take care of the family. You now are on your last journey to the heaven, being reunited with your beloved Albert and all those we loved and who preceded you to God. It is time to say goodbye as we always used to “Hug and kisses” . All our loving thoughts go also to our American Family, your daughter, grandchildren and great-grandson. Your nieces, the 3 French sisters and their beloved: Anne-Marie, Mireille, her husband Gilles and her 2 daughters Camille and Célia Françoise, her husband François and her 3 children Claire, Matthieu and Mathilde PS : you were so much looking like Mum, do you remember ?"
Veronique and Marc Weydert Dockendorf with Amelie, Sophie and Julie from Luxembourg, WI
"What a gift to have known Henriette, to have read her story and to have met her in person a few years ago. She will be dearly missed here in Luxembourg as well!"
Steve and Renata Cameron from SAINT CHARLES, IL
"What an honor to have known Henriette as both a neighbor and a friend. She was an inspiration in so many ways. Having first known her personally and then getting to know her full background through her book, we now understand why she was such a unique, incredibly strong and vibrant soul."
Marianne Hilbert-Kraus from Hostert/Luxembourg, IL
"We,Marianne, Nicole and Carlo, the children of Henriette's eldest brother Leo, now have to say goodbye to Tata Henriette. Each time we met, it was something very special. When we were kids and Henriette and Albert announced their visit to Luxembourg , we looked feverishly to their arrival. At those occasions a lot of family members came together in Hostert and you could hear Luxembourgish, French and Henriette's special mixture of Luxembourgish with an English accent. We loved it. In 2018 we decided to visit Henriette and Albert in St. Charles. So we had the chance to spend some time with them. They showed us around and we spoke about the past. We learned a lot about the book she had written and we had the chance to meet Bruce Steinberg, a writer and a special friend of Henriette and Albert. We present our sincere condolences to her daughter Josette and to the whole family. All our loving thoughts go to you. Saying Goodbye to Henriette means saying Goodbye to this Kraus generation, a generation that always stood together and by this gave an example for the further generations of the family. We will always remember Henriette's kindness, her cheerful voice and her laughter. Tata Henriette, rest in peace. Marianne and her husband Jean-Paul with their children Claude, Cathy and Pauline, Nicole and her husband André with their daughters Julie and Claire and Carlo with his wife Lucie and their sons Philippe and Benoît."
Anna from DeKalb, IL

Lois Steinberg from Urbana, IL
"I had a wonderful, long conversation when I called her after reading her and my brother's book, "Henriette." She said, "I know who you are." The rest of the conversation was wonderful. She was a wonderful human being."
Sian Steinberg from Aurora, IL
"I personally had the privilege of meeting Henriette just a few weeks before she passed away. Bruce & Peggy Steinberg gave me the honor of taking photographs for the book that Bruce and Henriette wrote together and it was truly an unforgettable evening.Taking photographs of Henriette was an absolute pleasure - she had the most inviting and natural smile. After we finished taking photographs, Henriette invited us to spend some time in her apartment which was truly beautiful. Henriette took the time to tell me the stories behind several photographs/art pieces in her home. Her stories about Luxembourg were so interesting, that before we knew it, hours had gone by. I wish I could have spent more time with Henriette but I am grateful for the evening that I spent with Bruce, Henriette and Henriette’s daughter. To Henriette’s family and friends: I am deeply sorry to hear of Henriette’s passing. After you take the much needed time to grieve such a significant loss, I hope that you are able to remember all of your wonderful memories of Henriette with less sadness and more joy.Rest In Peace, Henriette Agnes."

"My sincere condolences for the loss of a lovely lady. Mrs. Agnes and my Mom, Louise Williams worked together as realtors for many years at First United Realtors. The tight group of realtors that all occupied the “back” room of that office were always so kind and supportive of one another. Mrs. Agnes was always a delight and a good friend to my Mom, even visiting my Mom when she was ill many years ago. I enjoyed seeing her at mass on a regular basis with that sweet smile of hers. May she Rest In Peace and find joy in Heaven."
