"I loved Iona, she was a neighbor who always would stop and chat on a summer day. She said she had to keep walking otherwise her knees would lock up. She was so sweet. When we asked her last name she told us and we said are you any relation to so and so Shipley. She said no....not that Shipley. What we didn't know was her daughter Vickie was married to John Eskew who grew up just across the street from me on State Street and Vickie was in my husband's class in school. I felt so bad when she stopped making her rounds in the summer. Then one day the ambulance came. God rest her soul, she was a dear person and will always be remembered fondly."
