Irene L. Wibben, died Wednesday September 27, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was greatly loved by her family and friends.

She was the daughter of Mrs. lola Crump, born in Highmore, South Dakota on October 8, 1931. She graduated from high school in 1950. Then moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and graduated from beauty school. She met Harold Wibben and they were married on May 23, 1954. They lived in Sioux Falls, had two children then moved to the Fox River Valley. They were active members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and participated in Ruth Circle.

She was a Boy Scout Leader and was presented with the Burton Award at a Scouting Recognition dinner. She also worked at the Baker Hotel when it was owned by LSSI for 25 years. She served the residents living there, Golden Dinners and weddings. She also helped Harold operate Wibben Locksmith after retiring from LSSI, answering the phone and keeping the books.

She was a warm and loving person, always ready to take care of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed baking and was famous for her homemade apple pie. She had many four-legged friends also, they always ended up on her lap or at her feet.

Survivors include daughter DeAnn Miller (Ted McLaughlin), son Dean Wibben, 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Wibben on October 4, 2013.

Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 A.M. Friday, October 6, 2023, in the overflow room with the service beginning at 11:00 A.M. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1145 Fifth Ave. St Charles, IL. There will be a luncheon following the service in Fellowship Hall at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
