Jack L. Turk of St. Charles, Illinois passed away peacefully into the loving arms of our Lord on May 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife and Family. Mr. Turk was born in Clarion, Iowa on November 28, 1931, the first of three children of Hazel and Leslie Turk. He graduated from Clarion high school, proudly served his beloved Country in the United States Coast Guard, and graduated from Carleton College with a degree in Economics. He served as Senior Vice-President, Manufacturing and Operations for Duplex Products, Inc., until his retirement in 1993. Mr. Turk is survived by the love of his life, his wife of more than 70 years, Janice, four children and their spouses, that he adored and loved unconditionally – Cathleen (Turk) Scheithe and Jeff Scheithe, Joel Turk and Judy (Kashnowski) Turk, Christopher Turk and Tammy (Creason) Turk, Kelly (Turk) Cook and Kevin Cook. He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Jill Diane. He so loved and cherished time with each of his ten grandchildren, Jessica, Jaclyn, Dan, Diana, Kari, Ryan, David, Ben, Andy, and Emma, and their spouses. He was blessed as well to experience the joy and the outpouring of his love to each of his eleven great grandchildren, Gia, Evan, Nina, Asher, Taylor, Harper, June, Jack, Zoe, Kobe, and Cooper. He leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Janet Turk of Newton, Iowa, and his sister, Jeanie Hartley of Houston, Texas. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and sailing, but his greatest love was for his wife and Family. A Celebration of Life will be held at Geneva Lutheran Church, Geneva, Illinois, on Saturday, May 18. We will begin with a gathering at 9:30 followed by a worship service at 10:00. The Family invites all friends, neighbors, and all those that knew the wit, humor, patriotism, loyalty, courage, charity, and love that defined how Jack lived his life, to a luncheon following the worship service. A private graveside memorial service for the immediate Family will be held afterwards. In lieu of flowers, the Family wishes to extend their gratitude and appreciation for the compassion, service, and love shown by all the caregivers during Jack’s final weeks and to all those loved one’s still in the fight, by donating to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation.
