Jacqueline “Jackie” Ann Lucas (nee Doherty), age 81, of Naperville, Illinois passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 13, 2022.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents Lester and Katherine Doherty and her only sister Geraldine Bashore.   She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Charles H. Lucas Jr.  Jackie was the loving mother of Charles (Kaire) H. Lucas III and Janet (Christopher) Chiero.   She was the adored grandmother “Grammie” of Alyssa, Amy, and Christina Chiero and the treasured aunt of Robin (Greg) MacLeod and Noelle (Timothy) LaPierre.

Jackie was born in Boston, MA on July 25, 1940. She graduated from St. Aidan’s High School in Brookline, MA in 1958 and attended Chandler School for Women in Boston, graduating in 1960. She worked as an office manager for many years until she married Charles “Charlie” on July 25, 1964.  Her and Charlie share the same birthday and they also got married on their birthdays. They spent their first year of marriage in Germany where Charlie was stationed in the Army. Upon returning to the States, she started her family and spent many years being a devoted mother and homemaker. Raising her children was one of her greatest joys. Once she became an empty nester, Jackie returned to work at Medford Leas Senior Living Community in Medford, NJ where she spent 20 years as a server and then retired in 2005. She loved working with the elderly and had spent many prior years as a caregiver. She also volunteered at numerous parishes she belonged to over the years. In 2008, Jackie moved to St. Charles, IL to be closer to her grandchildren who brought her so much joy and happiness. Her final residence was at Monarch Landing in Naperville, IL.

Jackie loved to do lottery bingo cards in her free time.  She loved animals and had many pet dogs and cats over the years.  She loved her chocolate chip carnival cookies and a good “Lobsta Roll.” But most of all she loved her family and spending time with them. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved attending all their sporting events and cheering them on. Jackie will be incredibly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends
