Jackie Weigand, 65, died Thursday, August 21in her St. Charles, Il. home surrounded by loved ones. Jackie demonstrated her perseverance, zeal for life and courage as she battled Alzheimer’s for over a decade.

The daughter of George and Rita Cornille, Jackie was born on April 4, 1960 and was the fourth child in a family of eleven children.  Jackie’s lucky number was 4. Growing up in Glen Ellyn Countryside, Jackie became a strong woman living a life of balance between hard work and joyful fun.

Jackie was a dedicated, professional, smart and hard-working business woman working for West Suburban Bank from high school graduation until her retirement. Jackie started as a teller and moved into an operations leadership role for the bank.

Jackie’s value for dedication and hard work was balanced by her joy for life.  In 1990, she embraced true joy by marrying Gary Weigand in Hawaii, which became one of her favorite travel destinations.  Her joy was increased when her daughters, Brittany and Alex were born. During those years their home was filled with laughter, outdoor fun, and busy calendars supporting the girls’ calendars of academic, athletic, musical and many other interests’ events.

Jackie loved family gatherings, vacations and travel. Her love of travel took her to Hawaii, Africa, Italy, and the 1992 winter Olympics in France, to name a few. Trips to Reno to visit her sisters, winters in Panama City Beach, Florida and celebrating siblings 50th birthdays always provided humorous stories and an opportunity to share a glass of wine.

In her most recent years, Jackie’s balance of hard work and joy began to present itself in new ways. During these times, Jackie loved sunset cruises on the boat at the Weigand Green Lake cabin, sitting in the yard of her St Charles home watching the birds and her furry friends and eagerly awaiting “happy hour” to share a glass of wine or a Corona with Gary, her girls, siblings, friends or anyone who would join her in a toast to life. But nothing brought a bigger smile to her face than time with her grandsons, Hudson and Landon.

Survivors include; husband, Gary, daughters Brittany (Nick) Adelberger, Alex Weigand; her siblings Laura (Randy) Cornille-Cannady, Lenore Cornille (Bob Anderson), David (Cheryl), Keith (Falicia), Beth (Steve) Geerling, Chris (Kelly), Paul (Tina Choi), Dan (Katie) and Noelle (Mike) Carani; her grandsons Hudson and Landon Adelberger, 28 dear nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts and great-nieces and nephews.

Jackie will be embraced in heaven by her mother, Rita, her father, George, her sister, Mary Colette, grandparents and her father and mother-in-law, Bob and Connie Weigand.

Wake and Memorial Tribute will be held on Sunday, August 31 at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street in St. Charles, Il. Family visitation from 1pm-2:00pm, friends visitation 2-4pm and the memorial tribute from 4-5pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimers’ Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Il. 60601, alz.org

Condolences

Sherri Loeb from Broken Arrow, OK

"I had the privilege of meeting Jackie, Gary and her girls in 2015 when I was a nurse at Lutheran General Hospital. They all became my favorite family. Jackie was always smiling and happy and Gary was the most attentive and strongest loving husband I’ve ever seen. There are really no truly comforting words at this time except stay strong and always talk about this amazing wife, mom and grandmother. Anyone that met her was a better person because of it. Sending love."

Rick Weigand from Rosemont, IL

"My condolences to the entire family. Jackie was such a wonderful person and having to watch her and the family go through this battle was heartbreaking. We can only pray they will find a cure for this terrible disease. I know it is an old “cliche” but she is definitely in a a better place now in heaven and I am glad the family can finally put this behind them. God bless you all!"

Betty Caskey Ley from Belleair Bluffs, FL

Allison Triplett from The Villages, FL

"It breaks my heart seeing this. I had the pleasure of working with Jackie at West Suburban Bank for almost 13 years. She was a very kind woman, extremely patient explaining processes to me and my audit team, and one of the most brilliant bankers I ever worked with. Her smile lit up a room, and her laughter was contagious. My deepest condolences to Gary, her daughters, grandchildren, and the rest of the family. May she rest in God's peace."

Lara Owczarski from Yorkville, IL

"Jackie was my boss at WSB many years ago. She was so good and kind to me. She made me feel seen. May her memory be a blessing."
