James D. Gettings, age 83, of North Aurora, formerly of Batavia died Saturday, July 4, 2026. He was born December 25, 1942 in Chicago, IL to Charles Roy and Audrey Isabelle Gettings. 

Mr. Gettings is survived by his three children, Robert (Stacey) of Summerville South Carolina,  Scott of Brisbane, Australia and Michelle (Joel) Bishop of Roswell, Georgia, four grandchildren,  Meredith, Lillian, Kate and Cameron, and one brother, Roy of Florissant, Missouri. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, his parents, Charles Roy and Audrey and his  sister, Helene. 

Funeral service will be held 11:00AM, Tuesday, July 14 at Yurs Funeral Home, 404 Main Street,  (corner of Rt. 64 and Rt. 25), St. Charles. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery,  Hillside. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10-11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be  made to the American Lung Association, PO Box 70360, Philadelphia, PA 19176-0360.
