James G. Kelderhouse, age 59, of Warrenville, Illinois, went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2026.
Jim was born on June 15, 1966, in Elmhurst, Illinois, to Barbara and George Kelderhouse. On August 28, 2004, he married, Lisa, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love.
Jim attended Rockford College, Class of 1988, where he earned his degree in English. He had a deep love for Chicago sports teams, history, and travel, and he especially treasured time spent building Legos with his son, Garrett. Jim was known for his sense of humor, quick wit, and his remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. He never met a stranger and always had a smile or a story to share.
Most importantly, Jim will be remembered for his unwavering love for the Lord. He had a passion for learning God’s Word and never missed an opportunity to share his faith with others. Jim was an active member of Christ Community Church, where he faithfully served in Kids World, as a Greeter and Usher, as a small group leader for high school boys, and as a member of the Czech Republic Go Team alongside his daughter, Sophia. His faith was not just something he spoke about — it was something he lived every day.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa; his children, Sophia and Garrett; his sisters, Judy (Glenn) Syrstad of Tampa, Florida, and Sue (Dave) Gillan of Ottawa, Illinois; and his faithful companion, Onyx.
Funeral services will be held at Christ Community Church on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 10 AM. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Yurs Funeral Homes in St. Charles.
Jim’s legacy of faith, kindness, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

"Jim—college days still echo with your name, A steady laugh, a loyal, open door; Through late-night talks and dreams that set aflame, You showed what friendship truly stands for. Then life moved on—work’s pace, the grown-up race— And still you led with heart, not rank or pride; In boardrooms, meetings, every shared workspace, You chose the “we” and kept your ego wide. You put others first—so quietly, so true, The kind of strength that never needed praise; You lifted burdens others struggled through, And warmed the coldest corners of our days. Now we remember: love was your best art— Rest easy, Jim… you live in every heart."

"Jim clearly loved his beautiful wife and children tremendously and he fought hard against this terrible cancer; we are so profoundly sad for your loss. 🙏🏻 His fierce sense of humor was a true gift and his compassion was a blessing. Jim's family modeled ministry to everyone around them and my family were benefactors of their love; I can only imagine the Heavenly celebration amidst this Earthly sadness and deep loss. "Well done good and faithful servant" may you rest in Heavenly peace and may God bring balm to hearts of the family and friends who will so deeply miss you."

"I was blessed to have worked with Jim for the past several years; first at Desks Inc. and then at Corporate Concepts, Inc. / Continua Interiors. His incredible work ethic and professionalism, coupled with his always present sense of humor and kindness were trademarks of his and much appreciated and treasured by his clients and coworkers. He will be missed dearly by all of us at Continua, and we will remember him fondly... especially on the various Holidays when he would show up at the office with the appropriate funny hat. We are all better people for having known him. Rest in Peace, my beautiful Friend."

"Blessed to have spent quality time with Jim and Lisa at times over the years. First getting to know them at Fellowship 20 years ago. They were a real help to my young family when we stayed with them briefly back in 2010 during a business trip of mine. Most people will remember Jim’s sense of humor, love of his family, interest and concern for others and his gentle confidence in God.I’m thankful for the times he spent with us in North Carolina, and for the phone conversations we had to catch up which often ended with prayer.I share Jim’s love of the Far Side comics, and will miss his kindness and wit, but take great comfort in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 - 18."
