Obituaries

Jane A Rausch passed away peacefully in Saint Charles Illinois on January 7 2022 at the age of 92 one month short of her 93 birthday. Born Jane Ann Mack to Edwin and Hada Mack on Feb 8 1929 in streator Illinois. She graduated from Streator High School in 1948 and attended DePaul University where she received a degree in administration. She has resided in Marengo Illinois for the past 70 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter e Nelson her loving husband of 26 years, her second husband of 26 years John B Rausch (Jack) of Marengo Illinois and her grandson Walter Austin.

She is survived by her 4 children Walter Nelson (Victoria), Tom Nelson (Sandy), Marilyn Piaskowy(Kim), Karen Austin (Mallory), 3 step children Cathy Rausch Dixon (Don), Jack Rausch (Kathleen) and James Rausch (Christine), 13 grand children and many loving great grand children.

“Janie” was a familiar face in Marengo for almost 70 years, behind the checkout counter at the Ben Franklin store, volunteering at the Florence nursing home, helping out at her church bake sales and making her regular visits to Sullivans for tiramisu.

Per her wishes no funeral service is planned. A memorial to celebrate her life is being planned for this summer. The family requests that any donations made in Jane’s memory should be made to her church, The First Presbyterian Church of Marengo , 203  West Washington Street, Marengo Illinois.
