Janice J Demetralis. age 87, of Yorkville, passed away August 8, 2024.
She was born January 7, 1937.
She attended the Academy of Holy Names in Tampa, Florida. She enjoyed the Florida life and was even on Gasprilla floats.
She loved to draw and do crafts especially dolls throughout her entrire adult life. Her dolls were even in a doll magazines! She was so artisitic, this was her passion. Her unwavering resilience and strength remained steadfast throughout her life as she poured herself into nurturing her loved ones with an understanding of life as art. She touched so many young lives as she worked along with them at many resturaunts throughout the years. Janice also worked at Walts Supermarket in St. Charles with her family for about 10 years. Ted and Jan decided to open their own Produce Store in Lockport IL. until they decided to retire.
All her children, grand kids, great grand-daughters, son in laws, and daughter in law will miss her dearly. We love you GiGi, that was what the great grandkids called her and grandchildren called her grandma. She was loved by all and will be deeply missed. She will also be missed by all the animals that she would feed every day at her house.
She was survived by her husband of 70 years Theodore J Demetralis. Her children: Tania (Ron) Williams of St. Charles, John (Audrey) Demetralis of Plainfield, Erika (Chuck) Sacco of Apex, North Carolina. Her 7 Grandchildren: Tawnie Gill, Kevin Beardsley, Kami Beardsley, Alex Demetralis, Chris Demetralis, Nick Demetralis, and Kelsey Demetralis. And her 2 Great Granddaughters: Lillie Gill and Isabel Gill.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Ely and Pal Marlan, her son Ron Demetralis, and her brother Eric Marlan.
There will be a private Graveside Service at Union Cemetery in St. Charles.
