Joanne D. Vojahosky, 86, of Saint Charles, IL, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2023 after a long battle with dementia. Joanne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her devoted husband, James G. Vojahosky, her loving children, Karen (Jon Carlson), James J. Vojahosky (Donna), her cherished grandchildren, Lauren Dutkiewicz (Nate Lowry), Carly (Matt Paluszek), James P. Vojahosky (Danielle Kautz), and Katelyn Vojahosky, step-grandchildren Daniel Carlson (Kristen) and Jeremiah Wild (Lydia), and step- great-grandchildren Lua Kai, Jasper, and Amadou, and brother Nick Santo (Joann), sisters-in-law late Marie (Edward Mayer) and late Betty (Richard Hayes) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Joanne was born on July 21, 1937, in Chicago, IL, to the late Joseph and Helen Santo. She attended Pasteur Primary School and Lindblom High School, where she was an excellent student. Joanne had a passion for gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family. Her green thumb was evident in her beautiful flower garden, especially her precious pink peonies, which brought her great joy. She also delighted in preparing delicious meals where nobody went home hungry. Many memories were created while devouring her Italian shells and meatballs, bread stuffing and her famous mashed potatoes. Joanne’s greatest love was her family, and she dedicated her life to the happiness of each and every one of them. Joanne treasured every moment spent with family and friends, whether it was traveling, attending her grandchildren’s events, or simply enjoying quality time together.

Joanne will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering love will forever be remembered.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5th from 4:00-8:00 PM. Visitation will continue from 10:00-11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 6TH, followed by a memorial service to celebrate Joanne’s life at 11:00. All visitation and the memorial service will take place at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E Main St, St. Charles, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Joanne’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
